Show us your Dads!

June is the month to celebrate Dads. Create a layout or project featuring Dad before the end of the month for a chance at this month prize pack.
Here are some great Dad quotes:
“Any man can be a Father but it takes someone special to be a dad.” -Anne Geddes
“My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me.” -Jim Valvano
“He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.”-Clarence Budington Kelland
"A father carries pictures where his money used to be." ~Author Unknown
"Dad, you're someone to look up to no matter how tall I've grown." ~Author Unknown

You Can Quote Me...
I just love quotes to capture the mood and convey the message on layouts and cards. Here are a few good ones...
“Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity.”
Bo Bennett
"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.”
Unknown
“Remember today, for it is the beginning of always. Today marks the start of a brave new future filled with all your dreams can hold. Think truly to the future and make those dreams come true.”
Unknown
Use any of your favorite quotes on a scrappy project this month. Link it up here for a chance at this month's drawing.

A New Challenge...and our May Winner!
I hope the weather is warming up where you are located. Today, it was 92 degrees here in Kentucky. I can't resist spending time out in the sunshine (with sunscreen, of course)at the pool, watching my boys play baseball, or grilling out dinner. What outdoor activities do you and your family enjoy? Go out and take some photos, then scrap a layout about one of your favorite Summertime activities. Link it here for a chance at this month's scrappy prize drawing.
And...for the big announcement. Our winner of the May prize pack is...
Kim R. !!!
Congrats, Kim R! Please email your mailing addy to Keelyyowler@aol.com and I will get your prize pack sent out to you.

Fast and Fabulous Gatefold Cards
I love creating cards, but sometimes I want a different look instead of the traditional side open card. Gatefold cards are the answer and they are quick and oh so easy.
Materials:
Pink cardstock
White cardstock
Patterned paper
Stamps: butterfly, "Happy Day", "Happy Birthday", flowers
Brown ink
Markers: pink, yellow
Pewter mini-brad
Pewter photo turn
Punches: 1/16 inch hole
Paper adhesive
Instructions (courtesy of CardMaker Newsletter)
1. Vertically score an 8 1/2 x 4 1/4-inch piece of pink cardstock 2 1/8 inches from both sides; fold ends toward center to form a 4 1/4-inch-square gatefolded card.
2. Center and adhere a 1 7/8 x 4-inch piece of patterned paper to each front panel.
3. Stamp "Happy Day" onto bottom right corner of a 3-inch square of white cardstock. Center square on front of card 5/8 inch from top edge; adhere to left panel only.
4. Stamp butterfly onto yellow cardstock; cut out and adhere to white square.
5. Punch a 1/16-inch hole in right panel of card 1 1/4 inches from top and 3/8 inch from fold; attach photo turn with mini brad; use photo turn to hold card closed.
6. Inside card: Center and adhere a 4-inch square of patterned paper to card. Ink flower stamp; stamp image onto bottom of white cardstock. Ink "Happy Birthday" stamp; stamp image onto top of white cardstock. Add color with markers, if desired.
Sources: Cardstock (Bazzill), Patterned paper (Die Cuts with a View), Ink (Tsukineko), Stamps (Butterfly-Autumn Leaves, "Happy Day"/Flowers-Studio G, "Happy Birthday"-Stampabilities), Photo turn/brad (Making Memories).
